Thank You to all who visited me at the Bridal Fair at Camden Civic centre. It was a well run event and as usual I got to chat with lovely locals from the Macarthur area. I hope my cakes impressed some at least.
What great wedding ideas and professional we have to choose from in the Macarthur region. It was a little different 20 years ago when I tied the knot, David and I laughed last night about the fact that when we got married there wasn’t any option for our cake, well maybe there was but we didn’t excersise them. Instead we had a fruit cake, in those days you wouldn’t choose anything else – would you? Davids mothers friend iced the cake and Davids mother baked it, I remember the stress she was under having never cooked a cake that big before. We ran around Sydney and North Sydney to find a Teddy bear cake topper (to match our theme – I was only 22 after all ) . Finally we found one in a store at Neutral Bay so, it sat atop our plain white iced 2 tier fruit flavoured wedding cake.
Our Cutting the cake photo was less than exciting to say the least.
What a shame, if I knew then what I know now I could have had an amazing cake.

Yesterday I was proud to have delivered an awesome Cake for a wedding in the Astral Room at Star City Casino. The Bride and Groom, John and Natalie are reputed to have absolutely loved it. It took over 2 hours to set it up ( I won’t even begin to add up the time it took to create it) But ultimatly I was quite proud of this cake. I think it looked awesome, the staff at Star City were very helpful and I hope we can work together again.

The ICES Cake convention in San Diego was an awesome experience! I learnt so much, I saw so many inspirational cakes and had a great time. I went along with the girls from Cake decorating Central, Kylie, Louise, Pauline, and Kylie.
I attended demonstrations with The UK’S Ann parker and Cake decorating author Stephen Bennison, wow, they make the most exquisite flowers for cakes and have a very traditional style….just beautiful.
I attended a sugar modelling class with the delightful and talented Susan Carberry.
And the most entertaining demo was with Chef Domonic Palozzolo and his friend Charity George of TLC’s “Ultimate cake off” Fame.

The Cake Decorating scene in the US is exciting and inspirational. The cake decorators themselves….just lovely.

It was a great day at the Macarthur Wedding expo held at Wests in Leumeah. We saw hundreds of people and they got to see my cakes. Being my first wedding expo I was a little nervous this morning but I was pleasantly surprised at how well we were received and how lovely everyone was. My niece Claire and my wonderful mum Anne were there to help out and they both did a great job….Thanks to my most favorite ladies in the world.

For those who visited my stall, thankyou, I hope you liked what you saw. Just a reminder that what was on display were samples of what I can do, however my repertoire is far greater than that on display and all cakes can be individualised or a brand spankin’ new design can be created by me or as a collaboration with you.
